Getting Started With POTS Syndrome Treatment

Over the first three days, our POTS syndrome doctors and care specialists will come together and ask, “In this case, what is the best treatment for POTS Syndrome?” That means an extensive review of the following:

  • 200 Signs and Symptoms
  • Analysis of Your Medical History
  • Test Results, Blood Work Orders, & MRI Scan Reviews
  • Autonomic Testing, if needed
  • Ocular Testing

Once our team understands the specifics of you and your case, we work with you to create a recovery plan.

After A POTS Syndrome Diagnosis, What Comes Next?

We guide you through the beginning of your treatment. During this stage, we communicate with you frequently as we:

  • Prescribe medication and supplements
  • Monitor your response to our care, adjusting medication as needed
  • Request more tests as needed

POTS Care® is a POTS treatment center built on the core value of individualized care. Read on for a detailed overview of our special services included in your individualized treatment package.

Close Review of Your Signs and Symptoms

Our team starts with a list of over 200 potential signs and symptoms, then plugs the results into a sophisticated algorithm that gives us a comprehensive overview of your POTS case.

Medical Records Evaluation

You’ve been to an extraordinary number of doctors in your search for answers, and we understand how overwhelming that process can be.

Whether you’ve seen gastroenterologists or neurologists, we will comb through your records — your test results, visits, and any data available. With fresh eyes, we can identify medical issues and signs and symptoms crucial to a systemic approach to POTS treatment.

MRI Review and Ocular Testing

Many people who come to us have already had a brain MRI. If you have, we’ll study it carefully. If you haven’t had a brain MRI yet, don’t worry — we’ll order one for you if it is needed.

We also conduct ocular testing to better understand your POTS. Because our eyes offer a direct view of the blood vessels and optic nerve, ocular testing can provide critical insights into the underlying causes of your symptoms.

Autonomic Testing

While not needed in all cases, our POTS treatment center may conduct an informal tilt test to gather further information. Autonomic testing will tell us:

  • How your blood pressure may be involved and what it means in your case
  • Oxygen saturation
  • General functionality

Blood Work

We create a customized blood work order based on the signs and symptoms you have indicated and the results of your other tests. Based on your blood work, we shift treatment, resulting in dynamic care suited to your POTS.

Close Monitoring

During and after your treatment, we will work with you to monitor your recovery and aid you as you return to normal life. We’ll provide helpful guides and answer any questions you may have, including:

  • How should I exercise?
  • What can I eat?
  • How can I return to a normal sleep cycle?
