Bethany’s Story

Bethany wrote this touching testimonial after 2 months of being on our treatment plan! She already felt a relief of symptoms and is hopeful for the future.

“When I was 17, I got sick with a cold but somehow I never quite recovered-and that’s when all my “random” symptoms started. Brain fog, head pressure, eye fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound, neck tightness, and overall body aches were some of my main complaints. I was a teenager who didn’t have energy to go out, left school early to go home and nap, and quit sports teams that I was in. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. But I knew something else was wrong with my body.

It wasn’t until 6 years later that I was diagnosed with POTS. I was started on your typical regimen of high fluid/salt and other prescription medications. They definitely helped, but I still didn’t feel anywhere close to being “normal” again. In 2019 I came across POTS Care while reading forums online of other POTS patients, and was intrigued by the thought of doctors fixing the underlying problem that was causing my POTS, rather than just giving medications to treat the symptoms-sort of like putting a band-Aid on things! I thought to myself, “this is too good to be true, surely one of the many doctors I’ve already been to would have known this already.” However, I read other patients’s testimonials of how much their lives have changed for the better and how they wish they found POTS care sooner, and thought to myself, well if I have even the slightest change of recovering, I’m in.

That brings me to today; I just celebrated my 30th birthday. I’ve had POTS for 13 years, and to say it’s been a struggle is an understatement-but if you’re reading this you already know that. It’s been 2 months since I saw Dr. Driscoll and her team, and wow my life has already changed in so many ways. I know I still have a ways to go in my recovery journey, but I already fell a huge difference and get glimpses of feeling “normal” again-something I had given up on previously. My brain fog and head pressure symptoms were better within days of a new treatment they started me on during the clinic. They also started me on medications to treat the inflammation going on inside of my body, which is what has been causing my body aches. I’ve have noticed a slow decrease in the amount and severity of my body ached and notice that I’m able to do more things without being so wiped out. I’m so excited and optimistic!

It has only been 2 months in my recovery journey, and I can’t wait to update you guys later on. I know this year is going to be one to remember.”
