The POTS Care Difference
Kerry’s Story
“They say that words can be impactful, change one’s view of things, and help you to see in a way that maybe you haven’t before. Therefore it is so important that I get this right even knowing words will never suffice. However, I am writing down my experience to not only tell you that Dr. Driscoll has literally saved my life, but that you can feel better too and you have to be your own advocate to do so sometimes. DO NOT stop believing you can get well. I promise, you can.
I saw Dr. Driscoll and her amazing team at POTS Care only a month ago after suffering terribly for 4 1/2 very long years. I believed I had POTS (I had done enough research to know it was at least a possibility), yet I had also gone the way most of us do initially – to the doctors we know and hope to trust. Unfortunately, with this condition, most of the doctors simply don’t understand that one person could actually suffer from so much and daily. Additionally, you are shuffled from one specialist to another and they often are not communicating between each other about their findings. They check their box and send you yet again… on your way.
I spent thousands and thousands of dollars to try to get well. I was put through a blood patch procedure in my spine because my doctor “thought” I had a CSF leak. No real evidence of one, he just “thought” so. I had seen every doctor in my town and doctors at UCLA and Cedars Sinai. Cardiologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists, ENT, nephrologists, GP’s, rheumatologists, and more. Not one of them was able to help me at all. I was prescribed many beta blockers and other drugs that in the end made me much worse. Hence? I even developed a fear of taking medication.
That was 4 1/2 years ago and as I mentioned, I do in fact have that condition in conjunction with Inflammatory POTS. My life was literally taken away from me as I knew it and it could have been helped and saved that day. I was terribly ill chasing about 100 symptoms daily.
I had read about Dr. Driscoll for years and there was something special about her. Something pulled me to her. A connection, understanding, warmth. I couldn’t nail it at the time but they ALL turned out to be true once I met her.
As I mentioned earlier, I had hoped my doctors would help so I waited 2 1/2 years to reach out to her. I IMPLORE you not to do that. These are days you will never get back. One day I took the leap because I couldn’t live my life the way it was anymore and knew I no longer had anything to lose. I am so blessed and grateful that I did!
Dr. Driscoll and her team work so carefully together for YOU on YOUR case and do not shuffle any tiny piece aside. They put every symptom you have ever had, examine clearly your MRI’s, CT’s, blood work, eye exams, and put it all together in a way any one of your doctors can’t and probably will never do. Not because they don’t want to or don’t care – It is because they don’t understand the entirety of the disease and how it can be helped.
I would be remiss if I did not mention Sarah. She is a huge part of my success, extraordinary at what she does, and is always there for me during this time of recovery. Together they are literally changing people’s lives and hopefully one day, having done so enough times that the knowledge of IIH and POTS has made its way to every doctor’s office in the country, possibly the world. We as the patients who are suffering so much deserve that.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Driscoll and the team at POTS Care! You will forever be in my debt.”
Anna Mae’s Story
Hi to everyone, I wanted to let you know that I’m happy with the help I got from you… I’m keeping on improving, it is a slow recovery, but I really appreciate all you did for me.
I’m taking my medicines every day, consistently, and I know that is important. Diamox, for one, helped so much with my high pressure. I really like the audios too. They are very informative and helpful.
Thank you so much for your help and for being available if questions arise. I’m so glad we chose POTS Care for my care!
Maria’s Story
“POTS Care is a team I learned is worthy of my trust. The most important thing for me was the genuine loving and compassionate attitude flowing from everyone.
Dr. Driscoll has gone through some of the worst things as a patient herself, and thereby blesses her patients with warmth foreign to some doctors I’ve worked with. God is constantly creating beauty out of ashes by the way He uses Dr. Driscoll to reach out to her patients.
Dr. Driscoll and her team remained smiling and caring even when I thought I threw them a curve ball. They rode the waves with us! She is very knowledgeable, having been a part of all the research.
I am so thankful Dr. Driscoll understands POTS and its underlying cause in each individual case. May all the honor be to God!”
Annalyse’s Story
“My young daughter of only 11 started having symptoms and issues correlated to POTS and high pressure. Her cousin has had POTS for years and basically just has to deal with it, and so I thought we would have to just suffer.
I was determined to help improve her life and came across Dr. Driscoll and her team. Even though 2 months seemed like a long time, in those months she has improved so much. Whereas with her previous medical care, her symptoms only got worse.
She can attend school and actually knows what is going on in her body. There is a reason, and we found a treatment that is working!
We are so thankful for POTS Care. It was worth every penny!”
Clare’s Story
“Thank you SO MUCH for your help over these last months and for equipping me with the tools and strategies to move forward into a better future! I feel much more confident in my opportunities and abilities in all areas of life moving forward.
After going to so many doctors who either didn’t believe me, gave me the wrong diagnosis, or started a treatment regimen that made things worse, I finally know what’s really happening in my body.
And, I know how to manage it and how to deal with it when it gets in the way of me being able to live my life.
I can’t adequately express how grateful I am for you all and the work that you do.”
Sherlyn’s Story
“We want to thank POTS Care for the wonderful care my daughter, Sherlyn, received! We felt heard and understood by Dr. Driscoll and the team. They knew exactly what we were going through!
The whole team had such a personal touch. The audios we received for recovery have been very, very helpful for my daughter as well as my understanding of her condition. It made me realize Sherlyn’s struggles are not uncommon and there is hope for recovery!
We had seen so many other doctors and there was no improvement, but we are now finally starting to see some after seeing the POTS Care team. It was scary at first, but we feel empowered with all of the tools that have been given to help us.
We thank you all and also give thanks to God to help enable you to help other people with POTS!”
Holly’s Story
“As a single, 37-year-old female that relied heavily on parental support due to an unfamiliar and highly overlooked but crippling diagnosis, I was at my wit’s end to find validation and help to navigate postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome as I had been in a downward spiral for years.
After what seemed to be rock bottom, I began researching clinics, hospitals, and providers that specialized in POTS. I wasn’t accepted to a well-known diagnostic center but kept looking. At my age, I had been diagnosed and struggled with POTS for many, many years prior, yet had not seen any improvement since my diagnosis, and if anything, my symptoms and quality of life only seemed to get worse with each passing year so I knew I had to do something and find someone who could help.
I finally came across POTS Care and read Dr. Driscoll’s story. I was immediately drawn in and felt like she knew exactly how to help. I felt as though I had not only found someone who had experienced POTS firsthand but who, with proper treatment and education, had overcome the worst of the syndrome and was able to take back her life.
Luckily, I listened to my gut instinct and called right away to find out additional information and how I could get in to see Dr. Driscoll and the team. It was one of the best decisions I have made to date. I was finally educated on my symptoms, my specific type of POTS, and given the resources I needed to finally change course and head toward healing.
Two months later, I have made improvements that I thought might not be possible. I now have hope and restored faith that it is possible to overcome my symptoms and have a “normal” life.
I feel beyond blessed to have found Dr. Driscoll and the entire POTS Care team and look forward to my new journey of recovery and happiness.”
Anthony’s Story
“Being able to talk to and hear from Dr. Driscoll has made such a huge difference in my recovery. Her demeanor and personal understanding of what I’m going through have made all the difference in the world. It is comforting in a way that’s really hard to explain.
All I can say is that it helps my mental health greatly to be heard and understood for a change. She really gets it when it comes to this horrible illness.
My GI issues have gotten better, my neck pain has improved as well as my insomnia. My headaches have improved a lot and I’ve been able to drastically reduce the amount of migraine medication I take.
I have stopped taking metoprolol and carefully weaned myself from the depression meds. I have been off them completely now for a few weeks. I still have some moments, of course, but nothing quite like before.
I think having the physical effects of the intracranial pressure and inflammation coming down in my body is slowly making noticeable differences and that helps my frame of mind.
Thank you all for everything, especially this program. Thanks for your help and information. You are the best!”
Moriah’s Story
Moriah came to us in October with many debilitating POTS symptoms, including extreme shortness of breath, brain fog, headaches, pressure at the base of her skull, tachycardia, and varied GI issues. She was unable to work and was bedridden for 2 months at one point. Her reported functionality when we first saw her was only 10%.
Since then, she has been steadily improving, and has noticed many of her symptoms have already gone away!
“I deeply appreciate the help in finding the underlying cause of what’s been going on and feel so much more empowered moving forward! Everything feels grounded in what I’ve learned and a lot of the fear has been eased. Thank you for the help!”
Rachel’s Story
Rachel is a 14-year-old girl who came to us suffering from tachycardia, dizziness, and an inability to stand or walk for any significant amount of time without passing out, to name a few. She spent her days sitting in a recliner unable to do things most kids her age should be able to do.
Since treatment began 2 months ago, she has been able to walk around and no longer feels dizzy or passes out. Most importantly, she now has answers as to what caused her to have POTS in the first place after getting nowhere with her other doctors.
“Thank you to the team at POTS Care. A very good choice of words for the company’s name. Most doctors will tell you they care about you, but do they really care? At POTS Care you don’t have to wonder!
A special thank you to Kristin for understanding and caring about our truly unique situation. Also, Dr. Driscoll for being passionate about what she does. ‘That we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.’ 2 Corinthians 1:4
The Lord bless you for doing exactly that! God bless you all”
Breann’s Story
UPDATE December 2023:
“I am doing so well, it is insane to see how much progress I’ve made since July. In fact, I just ran my first marathon about a week ago now and I completed my first semester of nursing school! Thank you again for everything you guys have done for me, I couldn’t be more grateful.”
September 2023:
“I’m all settled over here at college and have been adjusting very well. I’ve been meeting up with my friends, telling them about my health journey, and how y’all have truly changed my life for the better. It brings tears to my eyes because looking back now, I couldn’t imagine starting college with how awful I felt before treatment. So I’m very grateful to have seen such an insane amount of improvement and can’t wait to keep continuing on this road to recovery.”
Katie’s Story
“We want to sincerely thank Dr. Driscoll and the entire POTS Care team for the superior treatment you provided for Katie’s POTS diagnosis. We have never met a more professional, thorough, and personable medical team than you all.
Katie started treatment in November of 2023 and we noticed a difference in her behavior within the first week. Her symptoms improved dramatically very quickly, and we are confident that the end result will be great.
After many years of searching for answers and many doctors later, we found out about POTS Care through a nutritionist. Years of frustration and feelings of hopelessness of ever finding an answer came to an end when we made the call to POTS Care. They immediately went to work on getting Katie moving in the right direction.
It was the hardest thing for us to watch our daughter who was full of life, go from a happy and energetic child to a depressed, exhausted, and hopeless young lady who couldn’t even get out of bed most days.
Since treatment began, Katie is finally starting to get back to her old self. She has more energy, she has taken charge of her life again, and has regained hope that all isn’t lost. She will be graduating high school this coming May and starting Cosmetology school in the Fall of 2024 to pursue her passion.
We owe it all to the wonderful people at POTS Care for helping Katie get her life back. You all are truly God sent.”
Brooke’s Story
“My daughter, Brooke, had a sudden onset of POTS in August of this year (2023). We did not know what caused the sudden onset, but it was brutal!
Brooke was a very active and energetic 12-year-old girl who had just started 7th grade, and she was on the school volleyball team and cheerleading squad. After POTS hit, she was unable to attend school or participate in activities, and she was nearly bedridden. Every time she would stand up, her heart would start racing extremely high and she got to where she could hardly stand or even walk.
We took her to multiple cardiologists, neurologists, and other specialists, and everyone suggested the same… high salt content and lots of water to help with her POTS. We were very frustrated that there was not more that could be done to help her.
After visiting Dr. Driscoll and the POTS team, Brooke’s symptoms started improving significantly. Since starting the prescribed medication and supplements that Dr. Driscoll’s team recommended for Brooke, she is now making great progress in her ability to walk and even exercise. Her heart rate and blood pressure have become more stable, her energy and stamina are improving, and even her anxiety has decreased. She is already able to go shopping and do other fun activities she hasn’t been able to do in months!
We have seen so much improvement already, and we are very hopeful that Brooke will continue on this course to make a full recovery. We are so thankful to Dr. Driscoll and her team for their knowledge, expertise, and hope they have given to us! They are very encouraging and understanding, and we highly recommend them to anyone struggling with POTS!”
Yulissa’s Story
“I want to talk about how wonderful I am doing, thanks to this team!!! It has been a year, and I am finally back in school and student teaching!!!!
I will forever be thankful for all my team!!! You did not send me away and you helped me get to the root cause of my symptoms!!!
I am still on a healing journey because I do deal with minor symptoms but NOTHING compared to where I was a year ago.
I will FOREVER fight for my health!!!!!! I have improved my life.
I want to be healthy for my FUTURE self, my kids, my husband, and my family.
I no longer let a doctor tell me “your lab work looks ok, you are fine, you need to see a psychiatrist, it is just anxiety” & so on…
Those days are over!!!!
Just know, all of you are changing lives for the BETTER!!
You all will always be in my heart!!!”
Amy’s Story
“Diagnosed with POTS and in a place of complete desperation, I found Dr. Driscoll’s clinic information online.
I was seeking places that specifically utilized medical science and the identification of underlying issues for my treatment as I had been living with Dysautonomia for 24 years.
After being diagnosed with a vaccine injury and long COVID by the doctors, my body was on fire and my brain was no longer functioning how it used to.
All of the remedies I had used at home for decades stopped working.
Dr. Driscoll and the team accurately identified my underlying issues and drove me toward an even better program for sustainability that I had never been able to achieve before.
She had to fight my mistrust of medical science from my experience with past doctors.
All of the procedures previous doctors suggested were very cost-prohibitive for me when at that time I was only 24 years old with two small children.
The science used was 100% accurate as we traversed the path toward wellness.
The educational component was invaluable as we have to steer our medical professionals in the right direction ourselves with this disease.
The proven research has simply not made it to our physicians’ offices yet.
While I have a long way to go, I have become significantly better while my other friends with long COVID and POTS are sadly still suffering and not regaining function in the ways I am.”
